after wearing them, do not leave your shoes in a dump environment or in either a too cold or too warm location – for instance, do not leave your footwear in the car, during the summer or in wintertime.
do not dry them using heat sources such as hair dryer, stove, radiator (high temperatures are likely to dry out the materials)
do not wash Paoul shoes in the washing machine for any reason!
After wearing them, air outyour Paoul shoes for a few hours. In this way, you can remove moist without drying them out.
Once they are dry, you can place your Paoul shoes in the cloth or satin bag we provide you in the shoe package when you buy them.
Leather shoes
Remove dirt with a dump cloth or a brush with soft bristles.
Apply the shoe polish cream with circular motions, starting from the edges and then wiping all around the shoe surface.
Then, use a brush to polish the shoes and let the cream dry completely.
For shoes made of silver/gold kid, we provide a specific polish cream, which matches with these colors.
Suede shoes
As this material tends to trap dust due to its natural porosity, to maintain suede shoes we suggest using the proper brush made of either natural rubber or brass.
You can revive their color using specific sprays.
Patent shoes (or with patent details)
Firstly, remove dust from the shoes with a dry cloth.
Secondly, dip a cotton cloth into a specific neutral and hydrating cream and use it to restore their shine.
Do not use brushes for suede or leather: they could damage your shoes.
Satin or cloth shoes
Use water and neutral soap.
Start from the less visible areas and carry on to the upper.
Please note
If the satin of your footwear is damaged or it is not possible to clean this material and make it look as it was originally, we suggest using these shoes for training and choosing another pair for competitions or performances.
Alternatively, you can request to dye satin in a darker color (for instance black or blue), with the Dylon colors.
Once again, please do not wash your Paoul shoes in the washing machine, for any reason.
Constant sole maintenance is essential to prevent you from slipping, especially if the sole of your shoes is made of buffalo.
You can use the sole brush with metal bristles, rubbing it on the opposite direction to the buffalo hairs. In this way, you will revive the compactness of the material and prevent it from flattening after dust gets stuck to the sole, as it can make you fall over. Are you wondering how can you understand when you need to brush the sole? It depends on how much you practice. In any case, if you feel that your shoes are losing their grip and you see that the sole in the front part is smooth, then you should do it.
THE HEEL PROTECTOR
This accessory is made of soft and transparent plastic and it is created for our female customers with the aim of preventing heel tips from waste. Furthermore, they must be worn during dance sport competitions, according to the federal regulations. We recommend also protecting the heel tips in case you need to walk on particular soil such as during a garden party or an open-air wedding.
How do you apply the heel protector?
Warm up the plastic with your hands and insert it with oscillatory motions. Do not worry if it feels difficult: its shape and dimensions are accurately designed to perfectly adhere to the heels without any empty spaces, in order to fit them perfectly.
SOLE BRUSH
This is the must-have accessory to prevent you from slipping over on the dance floor. Rub the metal-bristled brush in the direction opposite to buffalo sole hairs, so as to remove dust and restore the original grip.
THE SHOEHORN
We recommend to always use the shoehorn, so as to prevent the back of your shoes from getting damaged due to repeated stress and lowering caused by unproper wearing.
THE SHOE-TREE
If you want to maintain your shoes properly, insert a shoe-tree with the aim of preserving their correct shape. We suggest using this accessory, especially for man footwear, training shoes with laces and woman courts (it is not recommended for sandals, closed-toe and open-toe shoes).
Our repair services for the best maintenance of your shoes
We know how much people grow fond of the shoes they have been wearing during their first performance, the most important competitions or pleasant events in their life. Somehow our Paoul shoes became part of our history and they are so comfortable that it feels like they have been sewn on our feet: we would not separate from them!
We like to teach you how to care for your shoes, but we are also available to provide services with the aim of improving the condition of your Paoul shoes, so that you can wear them for a longer time. From resoling to satin dyeing, here you can find all the maintenance services that we provide.
RESOLING FOR WORN OUT SOLES
If your shoes are overall in good conditions, we can change the sole made of buffalo, rubber or hard leather or carry out a partial resoling.
When is it the right moment to ask for a resoling?
When your shoes are new, the sole thickness corresponds to around 3mm. You need to replace the sole when its thickness on the front part of the shoe is half of the original dimension.
INSOLE REPLACEMENT
As insoles absorb foot sweating, it is a good hygienic habit to replace it when it gets flat, dirty or it has an unpleasant smell.
HEEL TIPS REPLACEMENT
This operation is so easy that you can carry it out by yourself, using pincers to remove the damaged heel tips and a hammer to apply the new ones. Nevertheless, it is essential to remove the whole heel tip carefully, including the metal pin, so as to prevent it from getting stuck in the heel. If you want to feel safe, we can replace it for you.
SATIN DYEING
After wearing your shoes, satin could crease or get an unpleasant look. If that is the case, we can dye it in a darker color and restore its shine. Satin dyeing service is often requested by our brides, who want to continue wearing the shoes after their wedding for more casual occasions.
Before maintenance, we carry out a preliminary check of your shoe conditions, in order to explain you the possible services available.
