Non-profit project: "VISIONI. Surreal stories."
2014 August, 10
"La Milonga di Icaro" (Lit. Milonga of Icarus) by Matteo Danesin with Matteo Martignon.
The month dedicated to Matteo Danesin for the project Visions is May. Matteo Danesin is a Paduan photographer that took part to the fundraising for IOV, creating with Matteo Martignon, the creative stylist, a surreal representation of the dance with the title "Milonga of Icarus".
"Milonga – explains Matteo – is the place where tango dancers meet in order to dance, but it also represents the people themselves. So, we recreated these persons representing them as butterflies hovering in flight. "Icarus", in fact, is also the name of a butterfly species, that's why the parallelism seemed interesting to us."
"Not last, Icarus is also a mythical character, the guy that had the desire to fly with wings made of wax. A dualism that people are free to interpret."
